The Journey of a Thousand Miles........

The heading of this post is one of my favourite quotes of all time. I do feel like throughout my life I have been on this journey but I was always unsure as to where it was going. I knew where I wanted it to lead but lately it has seemed as if everything that I have been doing has not been having the desired results. This led me to finally decide to let go and let God which is not as easy as it sounds especially if you have a type A personality that constantly tried to control every single variable. The serenity prayer has also been a constant companion, "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference".

The journey I'm embarking on is not just about being healthy but is mainly about connecting with the earth from whence we come from. I do believe that our modern lifestyles has led us to being removed from the earth. We are no longer in contact with the earth as the clothes and shoes we wear ensure this. The food we eat is so modified that it scarcely qualifies as food at all and we are constantly bombarding our bodies with a variety of synthesized product. This lifestyle has led to our loss of indigenous knowledge which has made us dependent on more of these synthetic products. Through trial and error, talking and observing I hope to come out on the other side healthier and having a better understanding of our connection to the earth.
